2.3 BY AIR: Documents
Airport taxes:
Will be
calculated in the same manner as for Permanent Visa and returning Brazilian
nationals.
Delivery terms:
In order to avoid delays and additional charges during customs clearance, DO NOT INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS AS PART OF AN AIR SHIPMENT UNDER A TEMPORARY OR WORKING VISA: electric/electronic equipment, computers, furniture, domestics appliances. A bank guarantee will be required and customs clearance and delivery could take as long as 30+ working days.
If these items are shipped by air, and customs officials request a bank guarantee, we suggest a payment to the Federal Revenue Department of 50% on declared value of the goods for customs purposes to expedite the release. This will avoid delays, charges, and the payment of the bank guarantee.
Alternatively, if these items are included in the sea shipment, they should be cleared without any problem under a Responsibility Term.
If the air shipment consists exclusively of personal effects of the shipper and immediate family, it will be released in 3 working days, without duties and taxes. If it is a big shipment, it will depend on the inspector's discretion during clearance, whether or not to consider the goods for commercial purposes.
SIT - Storage in Transit, based on CIF value of the shipment.
Calculate as per following example:
|
Declared value of the Inventory List for customs purpose |
US$27,000.00 |
|
Air Freight |
US$3,000.00 |
|
Total (CIF Value) |
US $30,000.00 |

7.1 To Export Pets Out of
Brazil
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
ATTENTION
The Health Certificate issued by the veterinarian is valid for only 3 days. It must be delivered to the Ministry of Agriculture, which will issue the International Transit Certificate, valid for 8 days.
TRAVEL CAGE
The travel cages must be made of fiberglass or similar material.
The ideal size
of the cage is the one that best accommodates the pet.
SHIPMENT OF THE ANIMAL
The are two ways to ship the
animal:
HELPFUL ADVICE
In order to facilitate the Identification of the animal; place a label on the cage with the animal's name, complete address, and telephone number at destination.
Before setting the departure date of your animal, verify if the date of arrival is a Sunday or holiday, because in some cases, the animal will have to be examined by the local authorities that may not be working on those days and, in this case, your pet will be retained at the airport until the authorities return to work.
Some countries have additional restrictions, such as: quarantine, specific vaccines, legalization of documents by the Consulate, etc. So please make sure to verify with the Consulate if there are any kind of additional restrictions, in order to avoid surprises at the last minute.
7.2 To Import Pets Into Brazil
In order to be able to attend to the animal upon arrival, we must have information in advance to prepare our broker and our staff, to pick up the pet at airport, and to transport to the residence or to a kennel.
If the pet will arrive on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday, special arrangements should be made.
If necessary, we advise you to consult your vet for the administration of any type of tranquilizer.
